The Mission and Justice Summit on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Franklin Grace United Methodist Church is an exciting opportunity for United Methodists from across Indiana to gather, learn, and share about mission and service opportunities. During the Summit, participants will discover new ways to become more missional and share what they are doing to engage in and impact their communities.
Matthew's Voices is pleased to sing during the opening session of the summit. "The United Methodist Church has been alongside Matthew's Voices from the beginning at both the local church level, with radical hospitality and financial support from our partner Roberts Park United Methodist Church, and at the state level, with the generosity from The United Methodist Churches of Indiana through Mission and Justice Ministries grants.", said Jason Fishburn-Grooten, Founder and Artistic Director.
The featured speaker at this year's summit is Joy Skjegstad, a national speaker and consultant on nonprofit management and ministry development. Joy will share ways we can create passion for community ministry within churches. More about Joy's work can be found here: https://www.faithandleadership.com/joy-skjegstad.
Additional topics at this year's summit include: Helping Those Resently Released from Jail and Prison, Forming Racial Discussion Circles, Outreach to People and Families with Addictions, Building Relational Food Pantries and How to Transition to Food Co-ops.
